How do I shorten the digital scale?
1. Use a clamp to hold the two stainless steel wires (embedded in the sides of the aluminum rail) in place. (ONLY applies to systems manufactured before 2009.)
2. Saw into the aluminum rail - cut the green/blue circuit board side first.
3. Chamfer the ends of the scale to match the original.

How do I mount a Digi-Scale?
Model 10:
The readhead is mounted stationary via three holes in its housing .  The scale is attached to the moving part of the apparatus, and slides through the readhead.  Model 10 comes with a connector link to mount the scale to your moving apparatus.  This link acts like a shear pin in the event the scale and readhead are not properly aligned.  The digital readout may be mounted wherever is convenient for viewing.
Model 20:
The scale may be drilled at each end for mounting bolts, or drilled and countersunk along its length for mounting bolts, mounted with foam tape, or mounted with Velcro.  Model 20 comes with a guide clip that is used to move the encoder.   The guide clip attaches to the moving part of the apparatus, and is designed to automatically release if the encoder motion is blocked.  The digital readout may be mounted wherever is convenient for viewing.

What are the differences between Digi-Scale and your commercially available products?
Name: Our commercial product is called ProScale.
Accuracy: Digi-Scale is accurate to ±0.010 inch overall.  ProScale is accurate to ±0.008 overall, no more than ±0.003 per 12 inch range.
Default Resolution: Digi-Scale reads to .01 inches (or .1mm).*
ProScale reads to .001 inches (or .01mm).*
* Digi-Scale resolution can be increased using a switch on the circuit board.
* ProScale resolution can be increased or decreased using easy keypad programming.
Features:
ProScale uses absolute measurement technology; if powered is lost, the position information is retained.
Digi-Scale uses incremental technology; if power is lost, so is the position information.
ProScale is available for measuring lengths up to 20 feet.  Digi-Scale is only available up to 60 inches.
ProScale comes standard with cable lengths up to 20 feet.  Digi-Scale comes with cables lengths of 6 feet.
ProScale systems are available with a wide range of digital readouts, including units which are programmable to meet your specific needs.  Digi-Scale is only available with two digital readout versions.
ProScale readouts offer digital output in a variety of protocols.  Digi-Scale readouts do not have output.
ProScale may be powered by batteries or external power.  Digi-Scale must be powered using batteries.
ProScale is designed for use in machinery environments.  Digi-Scale is for general measuring use only (non-machinery environments).
