The display resolution is to 0.001 inches. This means the reading increments by 0.001 inch steps.

For instance:

  1. You are currently at 0.623. Your goal is exactly 5/8 inch (0.625).
  2. Adjust the lift.
  3. The reading changes from 0.632 to 0.624, then 0.625.

Over the lift’s entire range of motion, the maximum measuring error is +/- 0.010 inches. This is based on several things:

  1. Accuracy of the actual measuring scale in our measuring system. This is typically +/- 0.002 inches.
  2. Proper installation of all fasteners, brackets, etc, necessary to install the Digi-Router. We have allowed 0.002 - 0.003 inches for this.
  3. Flex and/or deflection of the lift’s housing, including a tendency for many tools to “pull up into the material”. In our testing, we found this to be measurable and made a 0.004 - 0.005 inch allowance for it.

Note that #2 and #3 are present with any measuring product/setup. #2 can be minimized with a good setup (properly tightened fasteners). #3 is more prevalent when using larger router bits, harder material, and/or underpowered router motors. Because our system can be adjusted while the motor is running, this error can be seen on the readout AND compensated for when necessary.
